Our Research
Inflammation is an early response of our bodies to infection and injury and promotes elimination of the germs and healing. However, if inflammation happens in the absence of the invaders – for example, because of the mutations or environmental factors – it causes tissue damage and is therefore associated with numerous diseases including auto-inflammatory diseases, diabetes and cancer.
The Andreeva lab is a team of inflammation and structural biology enthusiasts aiming to unravel structural and mechanistical aspects of inflammatory pathways underlying cancer and multiple other pathologies. We use various structural, biochemical and cell-based approaches to explain inflammatory pathways on molecular level and to provide basis for novel anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer treatments.
